Lotsa lollipops

I am making these little lollipop holders to give out to the kids at the Grand Opening of my new store. I'm hoping that this will be on October 17th, but there are a couple of things that are holding up a definite date...... I just LOVE paperwork....NOT!! Anyway it will be close enough to Halloween that I thought I could get away with these colours. It's pretty basic but I have to make over 100, so I thought I'd keep it simple! I'd love to hear what you think....and just in case you were wondering...yes, there is a Lifesaver lollipop inside:)

Happy Birthday Steve

Today is my hubby's birthday. This is a quickie post because the steak is on the BBQ and the wine is poured....! I just had to share the card I made for him, I forgot to take a pic of the inside, but it says.."Another year older, another year wiser"
He is my very best friend and I love him to pieces.
Thanks for stopping in and hope you're having a great weekend!

Guess who came to visit?

My daughter Andrea was home for a few days before she started her third year of university. She is a very creative person but she's not much into the kind of card making that I do. She's had her own sense of style and colour since she was little when she coloured the grass red and the sky purple!! Well, she decided to make a CD holder for her friend Kim, and so I told her to help herself to my stash. I honestly don't understand why anyone would put these colours and patterns together and yet somehow, when Andrea does it....it just makes me smile. I know Kim will love it, and I got such a kick out of showing her all the goodies I've been hoarding and watching her create something totally unique with them. I asked her if she would do this post herself, but she declined as I think she wanted to see what I would say about her creation. Andrea....if you ever get around to reading this....I LOVE IT! Keep doing things your way girl......it works!

Birthday Girl

Wow! It's been almost 3 weeks since I made a card.... I was starting to have withdrawal symptoms! Life has been so hectic lately, but I just had to sit down and make a card for my neice Charlotte, who turns 18 this month. The image is from my RAK stash and I LOVE it! These are NOT my kinda colours at all, but I felt like doing something a little different. I really like the sparkle from the sakura stardust pen on this image. I have a lot of birthdays coming up, so I may be burning the midnight oil over the next few weeks to get everything done! I'm so sad that I haven't had time to visit all my favourite blogs lately, but I plan on having a catch up day soon to spread a little love around. Thanks for stopping in stay tuned for some more store pics coming soon!

OK....here goes!

I've held my breath for long enough and I think I may pass out if I don't share my news with all my lovely blogging friends. In October I will be opening my very own papercrafting store!!!!! A real brick and mortar building full of lovely goodies to buy. I am almost giddy with excitement and I hope this explains why I haven't been leaving many comments on everyone's blogs recently! I've been negotiating a lease on a building in our little town and I finally got the keys on Tuesday September 1st! Needless to say things have been a little hectic round here and will become even more crazy in the weeks to come! I apologize in advance for the lack of blogging activity and dare I ask you all to wish me well in this incredible new adventure?
My new business is called "Papercraft Cafe" and I will try to share little sneak peeks of the ongoing activities over the next few weeks. I haven't created anything in over 10 days (hope this isn't a sign of things to come) so I'll leave you with a picture of the beautiful tin ceiling in my new "home from home". Thanks for stopping in, and I'd love to hear what you think of my news!

That's what friends are for.....

Hello my friends. I'm sorry I've been AWOL but I have a lot going on in my life right now...more on that to come! It's almost 11:30p.m. and I'm falling asleep as I type this, but I had to post his award from my dear friend Lynn when I saw her blog tonight. Lynn and I have a cyber chat on PCP whenever we can, and because of all the excitement in my life right now, I haven't "spoken" to her for days! She is the only online friend I've shared my BIG SECRET with so far, but as soon as I can catch my breath, I'll be posting my news for all my wonderful blogging friends to see. In order to display my award, I need to share 5 things I love to do.........EASY!

1. Chat with Lynn
2. Make cards
3. Snuggle with my hubby
4. Sing
5. Spend time with my 3 kids (they are all grown up, moved away and I don't see them nearly as often as I'd like to)!

The order of importance could change according to my mood, but I really miss chatting with Lynn right now so that's why it's at the top. I haven't made a card in over a week, so I'm missing that too! Fortunately, I had a lovely snuggle with my hubby earlier so life is good:)

Now I need to pass this award on to 10 friends......I'm not sure if I'm awake enough to do this right, but if I mess it up I can always fix it later right?????

To Karin...who shares so much of her time and talent with her online friends.
To Marion (Myrt) who makes the most exquisite cards and leaves lovely comments on my blog.
To Linda who makes fabulous cards and is an absolute sweetheart!
To Birgit, my dear papercrafting friend in Austria (the place I would most love to visit)
To Ineke, who makes fabulous Artist Trading Cards (I'll make some one day..I promise)
To Jen, my special friend and neighbour. Jen is a scrapbooker extraordinaire and is the one who first introduced me to papercrafting.
To Penny who helped me out with linking SU stuff to my blog and is a super duper lady
To Corrine (aka Roxy) who reminds me to hug the ones I love!
Now I have a few friends who do not share their talents online but who definitely deserve this award.
To Lucille...who makes the most beautiful cards with stitching on them.
To Louise...one of the most creative people I know!
To my daughter Andrea, who inspires me to be a better person.

It may be a little while before I have the time to notify each of these people about their award, but it's definitely on my ever growing "to do list"

Stay tuned for my BIG NEWS coming soon!

Happy Birthday Jen

Here is the card I made for my friend Jennifer who celebrates her birthday today. Despite a large age gap
(I could be her Mom...perish the thought LOL) we have lots in common, including our love of papercrafting. Jen is the one who first introduced me to this wonderful world, and I am so grateful to her for that, and for the many other wonderful blessings she has brought to my life since we met. The image is from my RAK stash and I've been saving it for someone special! I highlighted the polka dots on the party hat and the birthday candle stripes with a Sakura Stardust Pen, which gives the card a little sparkle. The sentiment is a portion of a bargain bin stamp from Michael's. I just inked up the words portion of the stamp and it works well with this image.
I don't think I've ever used these colours together before but I really like them. Hope Jen does too!
Thanks for stopping in!
